Flagship of MSC Cruises and the biggest cruise ship built for an european company, both MSC Fantasia and MSC Splendida were built in Saint Nazaire by the giant STX. MSC Fantasia entered service in 2008 and MSC Splendida in 2009. There's a third Fantasia-class ship under construction, MSC Divina, which will be launched in Marseille in May 2012.
DECKS 5 TO 7:
RECEPTION (5). Divided into two zones, recepion and account services. If you embark in an alternate port you will check in here. There is a beautiful piano used by musical groups and the SWAROVSKI STAIRS. It is said that each step costs about 6,000 €
BUSINESS CENTER (5). A small meeting room
CYBERLIBRARY (5). Small library with books in several languages. Passengers can borrow them during the journey. There are also four PC, but you have to pay for internet conectivity
RED VELVET / LA REGGIA (5/6). Main restaurant decorated in red (MSC Fantasia) and gold (MSC Splendida)
CERCHIO D'ORO / VILLA VERDE (6). Alternative restaurant located on deck 6 aft. Getting to it is a bit tricky, because you have to go through deck 7 and downstairs. Decorated in gold (MSC Fantasia) and green (MSC Splendida).
LA CARAMELLA / CANDY SHOP (6). Store dedicated exclusively to sweets and chocolates of any kind (I recommend chocolates filled with limoncello...)
SHORE EXCURSIONS (6). It is open almost anytime. You can also book your excursions in your cabin (interactive TV)
BARS (Le Vele and Il Cappuccino Bar)
STORES (La Boutique, Il Gioiello, Duty Free, Logo Shop, Perfumery). You can buy alcoholic beverages in the Duty Free, but you can't take them with you to your cabin. They will be returned the last day of the cruise (it is possible that if you buy some botlles the last night of the cruise, you can take them with you). The Logo Shop is more dedicated to souvenirs such as models of the ship, T-shirts, towels ...
PIAZZA SAN GIORGIO / LA PIAZZETTA (6). Meeting point of the passengers on board with a bar-café where you can eat an ice cream, a piece of cake... (I recommend take the offer of promotional MSC cup and limoncello). When the ship is at sea the stores sell their stuff here... I recommend waiting to the last day of the cruise to purchase something, because as we approach the end of the cruise you will find great deals (by end of the cruise I mean where most of the passengers leave, usually Genoa).
CASINO DELLE PALME / ROYAL PALM (6). Equipped with slot machines, blackjack tables, roulette, poker, Texas Hold'em (there is a poker room for tournaments). Every night there are Sit and Go tournaments. Smoking is allowed in the Casino.
THEATRE (5/6/7).
IL TRANSATLANTICO / LA PRUA (7). Piano Bar with live music every night
MANHATTAN BAR / PURPLE JAZZ BAR (7). It has a colorful decor, with large lamps and soft music performances.
SPORTS BAR (7). MSC Splendida is equipped with a bowling alley that does not exist in MSC Fantasia. There are many TV where you can watch football games (Calcio) and almost every sport
CANTINA TOSCANA / L'ENOTECA (7). Ideal place for a wine tasting.
EL SOMBRERO / TEX MEX SANTA FE (7). Mexican specialty restaurant
INSOLITO LOUNGE / AFT LOUNGE (7). To me the best lounge of the ship. It offers beautiful views over trail that leaves the ship behind. Unfortunately we can only enjoy it during the day or morning as at night is often used for activities and entertainment team competitions
HALL MSC SPLENDIDA

To access the coffee service etc ... you'll have to catch the aft elevator (those who go to Cerchio d'Oro / Villa Verde and go to the 14th floor. If you enter the self service you will see is a small service area open.
ZEN ZONE (14). A small pool at the stern (access permited to passengers over 18 without children). It is supposed to be a quiet pool area
